Language funding at KHKT supports all students whose mother tongue is not German. With individual help, we want to ensure that every foreign student is able to complete their studies successfully and with pleasure. The offer is voluntary and free of charge.

Language funding provides support for:

improving general language skills based on individually prepared lesson plans

writing scientific papers

language preparation forf special situations, such as internships or activities in parishes

the practice of specific discussion situations (e.g. presentations, discussion rounds, oral exams)

Group or individual lessons for foreign students

As part of our exercises, students learn to express themselves confidently in formal written German and in standardized colloquial language. The focus is on improving personal correspondence, creating independent summaries and comments, and specifically correcting errors in grammar, spelling and pronunciation. These skills are not only important for studying, but are also of great use for everyday life and later career.

Writing school at level C2

In our C2 level writing school, the focus is on formal written communication, which specifically uses written language instead of spoken language. Students develop their ability to read, excerpt, and evaluate and summarize complex texts in a foreign language. In addition, advanced language structures such as passive speech, passive sentence, functional verb structures, nominalizations, participle constructions and constructions with “it” are trained. These skills are essential for precise and academic expression during studies and later professional life.
