We promote exchange

The KHKT focuses on internationality and actively supports students on their academic journey. Exchange with other universities is particularly important to us. That is why we encourage our students to spend at least one semester at a university abroad. Such experiences not only broaden professional horizons, but also contribute to personal and intercultural development. With a broad network of partner universities and individual advice, we help you plan and successfully implement your study trip abroad.

Our cooperation partners

Our cooperation partners offer the opportunity to spend a semester abroad at renowned universities.

Scholarship and funding opportunities

There are various scholarship and financing options that can financially support students studying abroad.

Theology in Jerusalem

The theological year in Jerusalem offers German and German-speaking students of Protestant and Catholic theology a two-semester intensive study at Dormition Abbey. The focus is on exegesis, interreligious dialogue, ecumenism, and topographic and archaeological excursions. Well-known lecturers design a wide range of courses that are tailored to the curriculum of the 5th and 6th semesters. The DAAD provides support with scholarships that cover tuition fees, travel expenses and necessary insurance. More information on the Website of the Theological Study Year.

DAAD scholarship database

The DAAD is the world's largest sponsor of international exchange between students and researchers. With a broad portfolio of scholarships, it supports more than 100,000 students of all subjects during their stays abroad every year. Study visits, master's programs, internships, language courses, summer schools and more are funded. The funding period ranges from a few weeks to two years. Depending on the program, the scholarships are valid worldwide or for specific countries and target groups. More info on Scholarship database from the DAAD.
