The bachelor's degree program “Theological Diakonia and Missionary Catechesis” is an undergraduate six-semester full course. The degree program focuses on two central fields of practice in church life: the catechesis as a communication of faith and the Diakonie as a service to people.
Students acquire basic theological and philosophical knowledge and thus enter into the dialogue of theology with church and society. They learn to address current issues in church and society based on a scientifically based belief.
The focus on society requires that the bachelor's degree not only be able to dedicate himself exclusively to theological subjects. For this reason, it is consistently interdisciplinary and includes subjects from other disciplines (including sociology, journalism and rhetoric), always related to the fields of activity catechesis and diakonia. Since these are practice-oriented, the Bachelor not only provides theoretical knowledge, but also includes practical study components. The course thus optimally prepares students for professional and voluntary work.
