Diakonie certificate

Theological Diakonia Certificate

contents

The new “Theological Diakonia” certificate course is based on the bachelor's degree program “Theological Diakonia and Missionary Catechesis.” His particular focus is on diaconia, i.e. service to people. As part of this continuing education, participants receive the basics of the content and methods of theological disciplines (e.g. dogmatics, moral theology, Old and New Testament), which are essential for reflecting on social and charitable action. In addition, events in other disciplines (e.g. sociology and charity studies) enrich the curriculum with interdisciplinary content. In this way, social factors can also be taken into account in charitable action.

With a reduced workload of 60 ECTS-CP, it is particularly suitable for anyone who wants to qualify for volunteer work or would like to take a brief look at studying theology. The courses have a variety of formats (presentation lectures and block courses, digital and hybrid teaching formats), making the certificate course suitable for every life and professional situation.

Possible fields of application after the certificate include:

  • Social and charitable institutions
  • Visiting services
  • (ecclesiastical) aid agencies
  • social projects
